Second Day of അവനിജ

All the group events took place today. Everyone was not so much into the competition until they saw the score board. Now everyone is into it and is focused on getting ahead in the score board. We, the 2nd group was behind first group by just two points. Though we couldn't participate in mime, we compensated for it by getting the first place for Thiruvathira. The most competitive item was the group dance and we got the second place. Event clashes and lack of time, forced me to give my place to another student for the skit. Albin brother added a few changes to the skit and gave a social theme to it. Each performer outperformed the other. No one could tell the skit was put together just an hour before the show. We won the skit competition. Most of us waited till the end to find the scores. The winners doesn't matter but the first runners up do matter. We are the first runners up. The kalathilakam and kalapratibhas were from our team. Aby, Varsha and Aparna won these titles. Today

അവനിജ

Today marked the beginning of our arts fest  'അവനിജ'.  The chief guests were  renowned Malayalam poet Murugan Kattakada and cine artist Jeevan Gopal. The first day mainly had all the solo items like Bharatanatyam, light music etc. Aparna (2nd year) from our group helped us secure the first prize in all the solo dance categories. Somehow we have choreographed our songs for the group dance but we are yet to finalize on the last song to end the dance with a bang. The costumes have been picked and the tops fit us perfectly. For the skit, Sreelekshmi had given many suggestions from YouTube and we selected one and has decided the parts for each person. Instead of me, Absy from MEd joined for group song. Aby and Albin brother from our group participated in items where there were no participants. Both of them took part in mimicry and fancy dress respectively. It was very brave of them to go on stage without any preparation and take one for the team. Aby got second place for mimicry. I

The arts fest was on 30th and 31st of April 2021. All the teams made sure that they had at least one participant from their teams. The literary fest was for one day. the events ranged from poetry writing to collage competition. I had given my name only for 'English Short Story Writing Competition'. Creative writing was never my forte but due to lack of participants, I decided to give my name.  The whole day was devoted for group dance practice. Group song and skit were the other group events that I had volunteered for. Other than the WhatsApp groups for these events there hasn't been any other progress. As far as the group dance is concerned, we are still deciding on the songs. Till now all seven of the dancers has never come together for even one practice. When one comes the other disappears, The theme for sh
