The first day was nerve-wracking. It might be the fact that all of us haven't taught a large group of students. During the first internship, most of us had only 8-10 students in a class due to COVID and the idea of teaching a room filled with 50 students seemed to be a challenge. But after meeting the students, eveything seemed to go smooth and it calmed the nerves. The duties were assigned to us by our leader Sreevineetha. I had evening duty, along with Jis and Georgia. We had to make sure that every student gets picked up from school.

Everyday the teachers have a prayer at the HM's office at 9.10 am. I had lunch duty along with Rubeena, Deepa and Jis.
Today I had to go for substitution at 9A, 10 A, 10 C and 9C. 9A which is an all- boys class with 56 students was difficult to manage. They settled down after I managed to divide them into groups and give them equation related activity. Rubeena and I had gone for substitution at 10 A (all-boys) and 10 C (all- girls).
We gave them a puzzle to do. There were some excellent attempts in solving it from the student's side. Later, we explained how the puzzle cannot be solved using a simple idea from Graph theory and told them the story of Konigsberg bridge. The students showed genuine interest in the story. 'Great ideas change the course of history' was the answer a student gave when he found an innovative solution to the given puzzle. This quote was what helped me through the hectic schedule 🙂.

We had class till noon. Many teachers were on leave due to viral fever, so few of us had substitution periods. I had classes at 9A, 10A, 8D and 10C.
This time I had prepared a few puzzles for 9A boys using PPt. It did the trick to an extent. In 10A I had to continue with Cyclic Quadrilaterals. Ppt was prepared, as the diagrams were a little difficult to draw on the blackboard. The slight technical issues did take up some time but we managed to do few problems.
One of the things which I liked about St Goretti's school is that not only every class is equipped with its own laptop and projector, but every student is trained on how to the connect them.
Overall the second phase of intense teaching practice started with a bang and I hope it'll be smooth in the coming weeks.
